Descrizione

The Methane Emissions Monitoring System (MEMS) is an advanced solution to detect and analyze methane emissions from ruminants, integrating data from multiple sources to optimize farm management and reduce environmental impact. The system uses "sniffers" placed strategically, such as in the milking robot and feeding trough, to capture methane released during eructation. The sniffer in the milking robot ensures precise measurements during milking, while the one in the feeding area, equipped with a modified PVC tube, collects emissions during feeding.

Beyond detection, the system integrates data from external sources, including weather stations and milking robots, enabling the analysis of emissions in relation to environmental conditions, diet, and animal health. A central platform processes these data, offering insights for improving sustainability and production efficiency. The non-invasive, continuous monitoring ensures reliable data without disrupting animal welfare. This integrated approach helps reduce methane emissions, comply with environmental regulations, and enhance farm sustainability and productivity.
